OUR SERVICES

When Patients Come to See Me What Can They Expect?

As no two patients are the same I typically set aside an allowance of between 30 minutes to an hour consultation to see you. Should you wish to make an appointment at the Practice please do make an allowance for this.

What Tests are Carried Out in the Rooms of the Practice?

As an out-patient, we may request to perform one or all of the following tests on you in the rooms:

  • A Resting Echocardiogram (ECG)
  • A Stress ECG – a treadmill exercise test
  • Echocardiogram – that consists of 4 separate ultrasound measurements (M-Mode Echocardiography, 2D Echocardiography, Colour Doppler Echocardiography, Tissue Doppler Echocardiography).
  • 24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Test

What Procedures are Carried Out in the Hospital?

As an in-patient in the hospital it may be necessary for us to carry out one of the following procedures:

  • Coronary Angiographies and Stenting
  • Pacemaker Implants

What rates are charged in the Practice and will my Medical Aid cover the services?

Just so that you know our practice is not contracted to any medical scheme. Various schemes reimburse for health services and goods at different levels, so the amounts payable by you may differ from scheme to scheme, or from one option/plan to another. We ask that you enquire first with your medical scheme as to how much of the costs of consultation they will pay.
